We try them all just to get some relief. We often resort to packaged products such as ice cream, soft drinks or milkshakes.

Isn't it better to prepare everything at home?

Maybe a good granita, a sorbet or a cold coffee cream: a real injection of energy!

We offer you a recipe that is really easy and quick to make, but above all genuine because it is homemade.

How to make coffee granita?

Ingredients for two people:

  • 10 fl oz of Borbone Espresso
  • 7 fl oz of natural water
  • ⅓ cup of brown sugar
  • 9 ounces of whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa (optional) or 6 coffee beans (optional)

Procedure: Combine the hot coffee , sugar and water

in a bowl . Stir until the sugar dissolves. Leave to cool. Pour the coffee into ice cube trays. Place in the freezer for at least three hours. Fifteen minutes before serving, remove the frozen cubes from the trays, put them in a mixer and blend everything at maximum speed until it reaches a frothy consistency. Pour into glasses until 3/4 full. Place back in the freezer for about 10 minutes. Whip the cream with an electric hand mixer (or in stand mixer) until you get a very firm consistency. Take the granitas from the freezer and complete by adding the cream and if you want some coffee beans or a sprinkling of unsweetened cocoa.

The coffee granita is an excellent trick to beat the heat and to get off to a great start after the 2 o”Clock Slump.
